We are conveniently situated just 11 miles from the Cathedral city of Exeter, where there is a main train and bus station (we can collect those wishing to arrive by train or bus and return you to your appropriate station at the end of your training course).
We are also just one mile off the A30 (see map).

The workshops can be either residentially based, arriving on a Friday afternoon and staying Friday and Saturday, and include accommodation, continental breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon tea or coffee, tuition and all materials unless otherwise stated. There is a discount of £20 per person off the workshop cost if sharing a twin room. Evening meals can be taken at any one of our local restaurants, all of which offer an excellent selection of home baked locally produced fayre at very reasonable prices. For those who do not drive we are happy to take you and bring you back. Or, for those who live locally, workshops can be on a non-residential basis and include morning and afternoon tea or coffee, cakes and biscuits, lunch, tuition, and all materials unless otherwise stated.
The three residential cottages are set within the grounds of the sixteenth century thatched farmhouse and all are graded English Tourist Board four star. They are all converted from former fruit barns and are named after British grown apples. All have en-suite bedrooms and Bramley has a ground floor double bedroom which is suitable for the less agile.

Workshop numbers are limited and early booking is strongly advised to avoid disappointment. Please phone for further information and before booking to ensure your chosen course/s and accommodation is available.
Gift vouchers for workshops can be purchased and again we ask the recipient to call to find out availability.

All experience levels are welcomed. A range of power tools will be available and students are welcome to bring any items of their own that they enjoy using.
There is no special theme for the course but we do find that producing Tudor designs introduces a wide range of techniques that can be developed later on. Hopefully everyone will make one fretwork item (Allison's speciality). The aim of the weekend is to enjoy learning and producing in good company as well as leaving, thinking "yes, it is easier than I thought".
